BRIEF: Kroger hired more than 4,000 veterans in November

Dec. 07--Kroger hired more than 4,000 veterans and family members during November.
The Cincinnati-headquartered grocery retailer hosted its one-day "Honoring our Heroes" hiring event on Nov. 9, which results in the hiring of military veterans and their family members.

November's veteran-focused hiring event performed better than Kroger's first one-day veteran-focused hiring event in September. That day resulted in the company hiring 2,000 military veterans and their family members.
"I'm so proud of our store teams for their outstanding efforts during our national hiring event in November," said Tim Massa, Kroger's group vice president of human resources and labor relations.

Kroger has more than 2,796 retail food stores in 35 states. Kroger and its subsidiaries operate an expanding ClickList offering -- a personalized, order online, pick up at the store service -- in addition to 2,253 pharmacies, 787 convenience stores, 324 fine jewelry stores, 1,439 supermarket fuel centers and 38 food production plants in the U.S.
