BRIEF: Accessible Veterans Park to be dedicated on Memorial Day

La Crosse Tribune (WI) - 5/28/2016

May 28--Squirrels will dedicate a new handicap-accessible Veterans Park on Memorial Day.

The North American Squirrel Association, which works with disabled individuals, built the park, which is located at the Mosey Landing in Brice Prairie. At a ceremony at 1 p.m. on Monday, the flags will be raised at the park and a gun salute will be given as the park is dedicated to Merlin Mosey, brother of Ray Mosey, with Ray the one who donated the land the park and neighboring boat launch and fishing pier are located.

"The Mosey family has been very generous to the town and the area," ex-officio member Tony Christnovich said. The park, which sits on about an acre of land, will contain a handicap-accessible pavilion, tables and a grill as well as flags honoring each branch of the military.
