BRIEF: Doctor in stable condition after stabbing at VA hospital in Memphis

Sept. 02--A doctor stabbed Tuesday morning by a patient at the Veterans Administration Medical Center is in stable condition. He is being treated in the hospital's emergency room.

At about 10 a.m.Memphis Police officers responded to the VA hospital, 1030 Jefferson. The patient fled the scene, running eastbound, and has not been caught, according to police.

Police are checking the area; the incident is under investigation.
