Open house Friday at Southwestern Veterans' Center

May 13-- May 13--The Southwestern Veterans' Center in Allegheny County will have an open house Friday from noon to 3 p.m.

Members of the public are invited to the center at 7060 Highland Drive in Lincoln-Lemington, near Highland Park. Tours will be available and visitors can meet staff at the center and participate in activities with residents.

The center has memory, personal and skilled nursing care, said center commandant Rich Adams in an announcement. Residents have access to therapy, 24-hour care and recreation on site and in the community.

The center is one of six in the state operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. It houses 236 veterans and their spouses. More than 1,300 veterans and their spouses live in the state's centers.
